Emily and Steve first met when they were 10 years old! When Emily’s family moved to the neighborhood, their families became good friends and spent many afternoons, weekends, and vacations together.

One afternoon, Steve’s sister, Samantha, went over to Emily’s house for a play date. Emily decided to let her in on a little secret. But, only after making Samantha promise about 1000 times not to tell anyone. After the 1000^th promise, Emily reached under her bed, pulled out her jewelry box, opened the lid and turned it around to face Samantha. On the mirror inside, Emily had written “I (heart) Steve” in red lipstick.

Samantha kept her promise! That is, until the evening of Emily and Steve’s rehearsal dinner, when she brought the house down in tears sharing this sweet story. I mean, can you even handle the cuteness?!

Almost 17 years after that play date, Emily and Steve wed on a beautiful October day. Emily, Steve and their loved ones had waited long enough for this day to come and were so excited to celebrate that the dance party began before the first course was even served! It was a celebration I’ll never forget.

From the recited vows based on those spoken by many generations before them, to the historic church built in 1834, and from the table with framed heirloom wedding photos, to the collection of vintage vases on the reception tables, Emily and Steve’s wedding day was filled with tradition, vintage charm, and, most importantly, family.
