Chris and Shane met through the dating app, OK Cupid! Shane was the very first profile that Chris came across and he was instantly drawn to him. But, Chris didn’t want to rush to conclusions and instead approached the search for his partner with careful thought. Being the incredibly organized CEO that he is, Chris printed out profiles of those that sparked some interest, organized them on his dining room table, and began sifting through. But, no matter how hard he tried to keep an open mind to other possibilities, he kept coming back to Shane.
So, Chris decided to reach out! Thankfully, Shane felt drawn to Chris too and agreed to grab drinks at a local wine bar. Drinks turned into dinner and five hours of easy and exciting conversation later…the two of them knew they had found someone special in each other.
These two gentlemen have one of the most beautiful loves I’ve ever witnessed and that is the very reason why we celebrate!
With only five short months from our initial phone call to their wedding day, we dove deep into wedding planning and designing right away. We landed on a classic, elegant, intimate wedding design with splashes of subtle contemporary and heaps of sentimental touches.
The grooms kicked off their gorgeous September wedding day with a massage at The White Elephant, breakfast sandwiches delivered by yours truly and a stroll along the beach, followed by getting ready together, fastening each other’s bowties, and soaking up the incredibly special sentiment of the occasion until it was time to walk down the aisle hand in hand.
After witnessing Chris & Shane tearfully exchange personalized vows on the beach, guests strolled along a street called “Lovers Lane” to an intimate cocktail hour and reception hosted in the backyard of the couple’s dear friends.
While jazz musicians played in the background, the couple and their guests shared an exquisite eight-course dinner with dishes inspired by meaningful memories to the two grooms. Following the adorably individualized mini cakes for dessert, guests cozied up around the fire before sending the happy couple off with sparklers!
Words simply cannot describe how grateful I am that Chris & Shane found each other and trusted me to design, plan, and execute their most special day! It’s been a great joy to get to know these two, develop a dear friendship, and celebrate their fierce love for each other. My clients really do make me feel like the luckiest planner in the world.
As always with wedding planning, it takes a team of wonderful vendors to bring these magical celebrations to life. Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of the vendors who helped make this wedding possible!
